In its 2015 report, the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences identified Caofeidian Industrial Zone as the preferred area for the development of a Chinese energy trade & delivery hub for North East Asia. Mr. Bishoen’s activities and project engagements are policy-driven and are thus fully aligned with the Belt & Road Initiative (BRI), “Made in China 2025”, and “China Go Green” of the State Council.

Currently, Mr. Bishoen acts as a Senior Advisor to the CWSC unit of the Central Communist Party School, is affiliated as a Senior Advisor to the IQTE division of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (GFES), and consults CCPIT on BRI-related anti-dumping cases. His advisory work focusses on value chain optimization, energy security, and activation of dormant value of assets and extends from State-Owned Enterprises to Private Companies, to Government Institutions and NGOs. In 2017, he became a founding member of the World UAV Federation (Shenzhen, China), recognizing the significance and potential impact of these technologies on society & the economic fundamentals.

Over the past years, Mr. Bishoen has been invited to provide his expert opinion/insights on Smart City technology and development in Hebei, Fujian and Shangdong province. In this context, he typically addresses topics such as Smart Energy, Smart Security, Smart Mobility and Smart Governance by exchanging views/thoughts on some of the technologies he has encountered in his project portfolio (such as e.g. smart grid technologies, drones and UAVs, etc.) and the broader policy discussion around Smart City development in China.

His accumulated experiences and expertise in strategy & finance along the energy value chain, supply chain security plus industrial zone development, have made Mr. Bishoen a sought-after speaker, moderator and chair at various global energy events (e.g. Asia Power Week – Financial Forum, Singapore International Energy Week, CWC Global LNG Series, International Forum for Clean Energy, and the Global Forum for Energy Security). He has also addressed the Chinese Energy Security issues on CCTV 9.

In 2018, Mr. Bishoen is again welcomed by a variety of high profile events and media. During the Year of the Dog several publications are forthcoming in cooperation with IQTE of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS).
